OMAHA, Neb. - Making small changes in diet can result in significant health benefits.

That's according to new research that Omaha-based ConAgra Foods paid for. ConAgra says the research used government data to determine how much of a difference changes in calorie and sodium consumption can make.

Eating 100 fewer calories a day could boost the economy if 225 million American adults made the change. The studies estimated that cutting calories that much would save $58 billion in medical costs and improve productivity by $46 billion because of fewer absences and disabilities.
