BROOMFIELD, Colo. - Internet network provider Level 3 Communications Inc. said Monday it has expanded the communications services it provides to cancer-drug maker ImClone Systems.
Level 3 currently supplies data transport under a contract with ImClone, and will add services including colocation, Internet access and Internet-based private networking for the subsidiary of drug maker Eli Lilly & Co.
The contract covers services to ImClone's locations in New York City, Branchburg, N.J.; Bridgewater, N.J.; and Heidelberg, Germany. Also included are ImClone's North American data center in Newark, N.J., and European data center in Frankfurt, Germany.
Broomfield, Colo.-based Level 3 will expand its fiber network to directly connect to ImClone's two New Jersey locations and the New York location.
Shares of Level 3 rose 8 cents, or 5.7 percent, to $1.48 in midday trading, near the low end of the stock's 52-week range of 57 cents to $3.90.
