Vertex Founder to Retire as President, CEO

] said on Thursday its president, chief executive and founder, Joshua Boger, 57, will retire in May and named board member Matthew Emmens, also 57, as his replacement.
Emmens, nonexecutive chairman of Shire, will also assume the posts of CEO and chairman in May, the company said.
Vertex Chairman Charles Sanders will remain as lead director on the company's board. Boger will remain an active member of the board.
