States With the Highest Unemployment Rates

Jobless Rates
According to a report released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 48 states and the District of Columbia posted an increase in their unemployment rate on a month-to-month basis in May 2009, the most recent month available. Nationally, unemployment hit 9.4 percent in May.Click ahead to see where your state ranks. Updated June 19, 2009
