Marjorie Yang is a woman who knows what she wants and she’s not likely to take no for an answer. Vivacious and vocal, Yang is a woman who defies all glass ceilings.
To most people, she might come across as tough, no nonsense and demanding. But once you get to know her, you realize very quickly, she exacts those same standards on herself, which explains why Esquel is so successful today.
Elegantly dressed and stylish for the interview, Yang made sure she wore one of the shirts her company makes. Off camera, she even shares with me her secret of looking youthful -- personal comments that I am obliged to keep to myself.
Her obsession with detail and quality has won her big name customers like Hugo Boss, Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Ralph Lauren. In terms of branding, Yang appears to be happy for Esquel to play a lesser-known role in the shirt making business. Well, for now, that is.
